Tangawizi Tea

SWAHILI TANGAWIZI (GINGER) CHAI – 8 Servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups water.
  • 2 – 4 teaspoons Chai Bora’s Nguvu, Supreme or Premium black tea leaves.
  • 4 – 5 fresh ginger pieces or 4 teaspoons of ground ginger.
  • ¼ – ½ cup sugar.
  • 3 cups milk (2% or whole).

Directions:

  1. Wash the fresh ginger and pound until flat.
  2. Simmer water, black tea leaves, ginger and sugar for 10 minutes.
  3. Add the milk and heat just until hot.
  4. Strain and serve.

Time – 20 Minutes:

  • Preparation: 5 minutes.
  • Cooking: 15 minutes.
